Pistol Gunfighting

Gun-RAT: Pistol Gunfighting

G-RAT Pistol Gunfighting is the foundation course of the Gun-RAT program. You train as a single operator, with no partner, no team, and no backup, and your mission is to get home safely every night. All training is done from concealment in your everyday carry clothes and gear, because that’s how you’ll be dressed when it happens.

What You’ll Learn
Day 1, Classroom (Zoom or live)

Legal use of force: when you can shoot, and how your decision will be judged afterward.
Situational awareness: seeing trouble coming and deselecting yourself as a target.
Training the brain to fight: the OODA Loop, the reactionary gap, the body’s alarm response, and how to beat the freeze.

Days 2–3, Live

Running the gun: grip, draw, presentation, movement, and sight alignment.
Gun safety and daily weapons check.
Sights, optics, and zeroing, including red-dot co-witness and the 10-yard zero.
Proactive and reactive reloads and manipulation sets.
Reactive gunfighting (F-RAC): getting off the X against gun-on-gun and knife-on-gun attacks.
After-action assessment: what to do after the last shot.

Who Should Attend
Law enforcement officers and civilians who carry a concealed handgun regularly and want to be ready for a close-range, real-world attack. This is not a marksmanship class or a sport-shooting course. It is about surviving a violent encounter and its legal aftermath.
