Impact-Weapon Fighting

Stick-RAT: Impact-Weapon Fighting

Stick-RAT takes the close-range fighting of F-RAT and puts an impact weapon in your hand. A stick, baton, flashlight, or improvised tool is an extension of the empty hand. You still crash the line, take the attacker’s structure, and end the fight. What changes is time, angle, and distance. S-RAT teaches you to use those changes and to defend against them when the stick is in the attacker’s hand. It follows the 90% solution: a small set of high-percentage angles, strikes, and counters that work with whatever impact tool you have.

What You’ll Learn

Days 1–2, Live

• Stick principles: how an impact weapon changes time, angle, and distance compared with the empty hand.

• Angles of attack: the high-percentage lines a stick travels and how to strike and defend on each.

• Long, medium, and close range: striking, deflecting, and countering at each range, then closing to finish.

• Trapping and limb control: checking, parrying, and immobilizing the attacker’s weapon arm.

• Disarms: taking the stick from the attacker and keeping your own.

• Improvised impact weapons: turning everyday objects into tools you can use to fight.

Who Should Attend

Graduates of F-RAT who want to extend their empty-hand skills to impact weapons. That includes civilians, law enforcement officers who carry a baton, and security professionals. This is not a sport or a martial art. It is about stopping a violent attacker and getting home safely.
